Leeds United are willing to listen to offers for midfielder Luke Murphy, who is surplus to requirements at Elland Road.

Murphy, schooled in the youth academy at Crewe Alexandra, had been tipped to flourish under the pass-minded Garry Monk when he took charge at Leeds earlier this summer.

But the midfielder appears not to have impressed Monk as he has found himself locked out of the matchday picture.

As it stands, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds would be willing to listen to offers for Murphy, after deeming him surplus to requirements.

Leeds beat off competition from a number of clubs to snap Murphy up from Crewe in the summer of 2013, paying over £1m for his signature.

Murphy quickly established himself at Elland Road and last summer was rewarded with a new four-year contract at the club.

But now the 26-year-old's fortunes have taken a turn for the worse since the arrival of Monk and Murphy may have to head elsewhere before the transfer window closes if he is to secure regular first team football this season.
