Liverpool are considering sending Mamadou Sakho out on loan in order to get his career back on track, according to the Times.

Sakho has fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and with the German having drafted in two new centre-backs in the shape of Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan, may find first team chances tough to come by.

The France international also fell foul of Klopp on Liverpool's pre-season tour.

Sakho was late to meet up with the squad for the flight to the United States, while he also interrupted an interview Klopp was giving. And the German boss opted to send him back to Merseyside from the United States early.

Now Liverpool are pondering whether to send Sakho out on a loan spell.

Regular first team football away from Anfield may help the Frenchman to get his career back on track, something which would benefit Liverpool when he returns.

There are likely to be no shortage of takers for Sakho if Liverpool do authorise a loan move.
