Tottenham Hotspur full-back DeAndre Yedlin is due in Newcastle either later today or tomorrow to complete a switch to St. James' Park.

Aston Villa have also been linked with the American, but despite talk the Villa Park outfit had put a bid in for the defender, along with Newcastle, they look set to lose out to the Magpies.

Indeed, according to the Shields Gazette, Yedlin is expected to arrive on Tyneside either today or tomorrow to put the finishing touches to a move to Rafael Benitez's men.

The speedy full-back spent the majority of last season on loan at Newcastle's fierce rivals Sunderland and even locked horns with the Magpies twice in the Premier League.

Now though Yedlin is set to put all his efforts into helping Newcastle try to earn instant promotion back to the Premier League after their relegation.
