Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes that Tom Rogic needs to last for 90 minutes in games.

The Australian was overlooked for a starting spot in Tuesday night's Champions League playoff round tie second leg in Israel, with Celtic just squeezing through to the group stage despite losing 2-0; the Bhoys won 5-4 on aggregate.

He was brought off the bench at half time and replaced James Forrest, as boss Brendan Rodgers looked for his men to protect their lead from the first leg.

Sutton is a fan of Rogic, who has often come in for criticism that he struggles to perform at his best throughout matches.

And the former Celtic striker does agree that Rogic needs to last a full 90 minutes, with building up his stamina key.

Writing on Twitter, Sutton explained: "Agree he doesn't last, but he is getting better, but that's part of his game he needs to really work at."

Rogic played all 90 minutes of Celtic's 4-2 wain away at McDiarmid Park against St. Johnstone last weekend, something which may have influenced Rodgers' decision to start with him on the bench in Israel.
