The draw for the third round of the EFL Cup has been held and a number of thrilling ties are in prospect, with Premier League clubs now involved in European competition entering the fray.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, who thrashed Burton Albion 5-0 on Tuesday night, have been rewarded with a trip to Nigel Pearson's Derby County, while Jose Mourinho's Manchester United head to Northampton Town.

Meanwhile, Leeds United's reward for edging past Luton Town is a home tie against fellow Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

Antonio Conte's Chelsea, who saw off Bristol Rovers at Stamford Bridge and will be looking to make progress in the competition in the absence of European football, get Premier League champions Leicester City away in an acid test.

Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Gillingham at White Hart Lane, while holders Manchester City travel to Swansea City.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest host Arsene Wenger's Arsenal at the City Ground.

West Ham United have been drawn to take on Accrington Stanley, who put Burnley out.
