West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic spoke with Juventus striker Simone Zaza on Wednesday as he tries to tempt the hitman to move to the London Stadium.

The Hammers are working overtime in a bid to sign Zaza from Juventus, although it it still unclear whether he would arrive on a loan deal or a permanent transfer, as it has been claimed the Italy international only wants a permanent switch.

Napoli are interested in Zaza, but according to Sky Italia, West Ham are in pole following Bilic's phone call and the fact that the Azzurri have not sold Manolo Gabbiadini to Everton.

Last season's Serie A runners-up, Napoli have been keen to sign Zaza, but would have to offload Gabbiadini first.

With the clock ticking on the transfer window, West Ham are looking to reach an agreement over personal terms with Zaza, while pushing a deal with Juventus over the line.
