Arsenal look to have recovered from Deportivo La Coruna rejecting a bid for Lucas Perez to put a deal in place for the striker.

Perez, who has also been on the radar of Everton and West Brom, with Ronald Koeman's men pushing to take him to Goodison Park, while the Baggies were late entrants into the race, is wanted by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

His release clause is €20m, but although Arsenal offered €20m, they proposed to pay in two installments, something which allowed Deportivo La Coruna to reject the bid.

But according to the BBC, Arsenal have come back and have now agreed a fee for the 27-year-old.

Arsenal boss Wenger has been looking to sign another striker, however he has been determined not to chase a high-cost option.

Perez netted 17 goals for Deportivo La Coruna last season and Wenger will hope the Spaniard can bring his shooting boots to England.

The Gunners are also expected to sign centre-back Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia, meaning they will complete a double raid on La Liga before the transfer window closes.
