Lyon are set to offer a final contract extension to Everton and West Ham United target Rachid Ghezzal before taking a decision on his future at the club.

The 24-year-old winger, who recently knocked back an offer to join Everton, has been struggling to find an agreement with Lyon to extend his current contract, which expires at the end of this season.

The winger suffered a groin injury earlier this month, and while he returned to training recently, he is yet to play for the Ligue 1 outfit in the current campaign.

West Ham are interested in the player, but they are yet to come back with an improved bid after Lyon rejected an initial offer of €8m earlier in the summer.

Lyon are still hopeful of agreeing terms of a new contract with the player, despite Ghezzal rejecting their recent offer of a €150,000 per month deal, and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, they will try their luck one final time.

While it is unlikely Lyon will meet his financial demands, the club are expected to offer him one final chance to sign a new deal before taking a decision on his future at the club.

The final decision on Ghezzal’s future at Lyon is expected to be made by the club hierarchy later today after the Champions League draw in Monaco.

A product of the Lyon academy, the winger scored ten goals and assisted nine more last season.
