Schalke have denied any interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son in the final week of the transfer window.

The South Korean international joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, and scored eight times in 40 appearances in all competitions in his first season in England.

However, the 24-year-old is yet to feature for Tottenham this season, and there have been suggestions that he could find the exit door at White Hart Lane before next Wednesday’s transfer deadline day.

Wolfsburg have been linked with a move for the Tottenham man, and there are suggestions that even Schalke could try their luck with the South Korean towards the end of the window.

However, Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel insisted that despite being aware of the quality of Son, the club are not interested in snapping him up this summer.

He said in a press conference: “Heung-Min Son is an outstanding footballer; we know it from his time at HSV and Leverkusen.

“But he has nothing to do with Schalke 04.”

Son has a contract until 2020 with the north London outfit.
