Rangers’ Harry Forrester has revealed that while Jose Mourinho used to be his favourite manager previously, he now counts Pep Guardiola as the best.

Mourinho, whose second spell in charge of Chelsea ended acrimoniously last December, was named Manchester United’s new manager in the summer.

On the other hand, former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola took charge of the Red Devils’ city rivals Manchester City at the start of July.

And Forrester, who is of the opinion that Mourinho has become “a bit boring” in recent years, feels Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world presently.

“It used to be Jose Mourinho, he got a bit too much in the past couple of years”, Forrester told Rangers TV, when asked who his favourite manager is.

“At first I used to love him, I think he is a bit boring now.

“Football-wise Pep Guardiola has to be up there with the best.”

Mourinho, who has won league titles in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy, has won all three competitive games in charge of Manchester United thus far.

Guardiola too is yet to lose or draw a game with Manchester City, who are currently on top of the Premier League on goal difference.
