Napoli are pushing forward a deal for West Ham and Chelsea target Nikola Maksimovic, and have tabled an improved bid for the Torino defender.

Maksimovic is expected to leave Torino in the final week of the transfer window, after falling out with manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, and is attracting interest from Italy and England.

West Ham have held talks with his agent over a proposed move to east London, and even Chelsea have turned their attention towards the Serb after failing to sign AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

However, Napoli are the ones who are putting in all the legwork necessary to take Maksimovic to the San Paolo, and according to Sky Italia have slapped in an improved offer for the defender.

It has been claimed that the Campania club have tabled a fresh offer of €28m for the Serbian, and while the offer is yet to match Torino’s demands, it is inching towards the €30m price tag.
