Rangers winger Harry Forrester has revealed that if given the chance, he would like to bring Lionel Messi to the club.

The Gers, who returned to the top flight after winning the Scottish Championship last season, presently find themselves top of the Scottish Premiership table with seven points from three outings.

After an opening day 1-1 draw against Hamilton Academical, Rangers beat Dundee and Motherwell by 2-1 margins to shoot up the league table; second-placed Celtic have six points from two outings.

And Forrester is of the opinion that Rangers would be the favourites to win their 55th league title if Messi joined their ranks, with 25-year-old backing the Argentine to score a bagful of goals in the process.

“Lionel Messi, so that he can do all the work for most of the team and probably score 60 goals and we win the league, number 55”, he told Rangers TV, when asked which player he would like to bring to Ibrox.
