West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has revealed that his side have agreed terms with Simone Zaza as he is hopeful about the deal happening today.

The Hammers have been on the lookout for a top class striker all summer, and zeroed in on Zaza, who was sparingly used by Juventus last season.

The Italian international was expected to fall further down the pecking order at Juventus this season after the Serie A champions signed Gonzalo Higuain in the summer.

West Ham, who are struggling on the attacking front due to injuries to several players, took advantage of the situation and swooped in for the forward.

And Bilic insisted that West Ham are likely to secure the signing of Zaza today, with the 25-year-old set to arrive in London.

“With the Zaza situation, it looks very likely to happen and should happen today”, he said in his pre-match press conference this morning.

“As far as I know the deal is agreed between clubs.

“The personal terms are also agreed and he is due in London today, so we hope it will be done.

"It's very positive and is a boost. We've been trying for a long time now to get a top quality striker and he was always mentioned."

Zaza, whose present contract with Juventus runs until 2020, joined the Italian champions from Sassuolo last summer.

He also has 14 caps and a goal for Italy to his name.
