Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has played down Wilfried Zaha’s chances of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger, who is a product of Crystal Palace’s youth system, rejoined the Eagles in 2014, initially on loan, after an unsuccessful stint at Manchester United.

Zaha made 43 appearances in all competitions for Crystal Palace last season, scoring five times and setting up seven goals, and attracted the interest of Spurs, who lodged a bid worth £15m for the player yesterday.

The 23-year-old is also keen on a move to White Hart Lane, but Pardew insisted that Zaha will be staying at Crystal Palace, hurting Spurs' hopes of snapping him up.

"I don’t even know what the bid is”, he said in his pre-match press conference this morning.

“I didn’t even ask.

"I've worked with Zaha. He’s improved under my management, the club have done well to bring him back here.

“He's playing great football. I hope that doesn’t stop going forward.

"The chairman has made his position clear and I stand by that."

Zaha, whose present deal with Crystal Palace runs until the summer of 2020, has made three appearances in all competitions for the club in the present campaign.

He also has two senior caps for England to his name, but last represented the nation in a friendly against Scotland in August 2013.
