Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has stressed that he is happy to work with the squad he has at the moment, but admits he is trying to bring in some new players before next Wednesday’s deadline day.

While Chelsea have made a flawless start to the season with three wins in three, the club have not seen such success in the market, and have struggled to sign players in recent weeks.

The signatures of N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi were completed early in the summer, but they have run into blind alleys in their attempts to sign defenders, with clubs refusing to sell their top targets.

Conte admits that the club have been working hard behind the scenes to bring in new players and strengthen the squad in key areas before the clock runs out on Wednesday.

However, he insisted that he has no problems in working with the current group of players he has at his disposal for the rest of the season.
