Watford have slapped in an offer for Monaco defender Marcel Tisserand, who has also been linked with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

Tisserand impressed on a loan stint at Toulouse and his performances have alerted a number of sides to his potential, meaning Monaco may well bid farewell to the 23-year-old this summer.

According to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Watford have been in touch with Monaco to put in a bid for Tisserand.

The exact amount of the offer has not filtered through, however it is claimed that the bid was well received at the Stade Louis II by Monaco.

And as such Tisserand could well move to Watford before the transfer window slams shut.

However, the Hornets could have opposition as Arsenal were recently claimed to have made an approach for the young defender, while Espanyol and Udinese have also been linked.

Tisserand came through the youth ranks at Monaco and has had spells with Lens and Toulouse.
