Premier League champions Leicester City have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon for the signature of striker Islam Slimani, according to Portuguese daily Diario de Noticias.

Leicester have been chasing the 28-year-old striker all summer, but were struggling to agree a fee with Sporting, with the Portuguese outfit knocking back an earlier offer of €20m a few weeks ago.

However, it appears the Foxes have finally clinched an agreement for Slimani as it has been claimed that they have reached a deal with the Portuguese giants over the Algerian’s transfer.

It has been suggested that Leicester have agreed to pay a transfer fee of around €29m in three installments, and Slimani is expected to arrive in England soon to finalise the switch.

It is claimed that West Brom were also chasing the striker, but Leicester moved decisively in recent hours to close out an agreement with Sporting for the 28-year-old’s move to the Premier League.
