Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has slammed the overall performance of the Whites in their 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

After a good run of form, Leeds’ old failings came into the fore as two goals from corners handed the advantage to Forest, and while Kalvin Phillips scored a screamer towards the end, an Oliver Burke goal in stoppage time sealed the deal for the home side at the City Ground.

While defending from set-pieces has been a problem for Leeds this season, Gray feels the overall performance of Garry Monk’s men was nothing to write home about.

He feels Leeds neither did enough to create chances in the final third nor take the opportunities that fell in front of them, and conceded that they were again poor when it comes to defending set-pieces, which led to the first two goals.

The Leeds legend told LUTV: “It was pretty miserable.

“It was disappointing; plenty of possession of the ball, but we never did enough in the final third, got into some great areas, the final ball was poor, and we didn’t make enough of the opportunities we had.

“And the defending from the set-pieces was pretty average; we got a warning just before they scored the first goal, the goalkeeper made a great save, but then they scored the goal from the set piece.

“In the second half, another set play, far post header, pretty simple for them, but disappointing for us.”

Monk has also bemoaned his side's set-piece defending, and has warned his players that he won’t shy away from making changes if they don’t improve soon.
