Everton face a wait to get their hands on Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini, despite having thrashed out a fee with the Serie A side for the player.

The Toffees are poised to pay €23m plus €2m in bonus payments to sign the former Sampdoria man, who struggled to nail down a regular starting spot with Napoli last term.

However, Napoli want to replace Gabbiadini before letting him leave and are chasing Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti.

Aa a result, Gabbiadini's move to Everton is being held up, according to Sky Italia, with Napoli wanting to push a deal for Pavoletti over the line.

And so, if the Azzurri cannot grab Pavoletti or another striker, it is possible Gabbiadini's switch to Goodison Park may not go through.
