Nottingham Forest are one step away from signing Napoli striker Nicolao Dumitru.

The 24-year-old forward has been weighing up proposals from Italian side Spezia and Nottingham Forest, as he seeks to secure regular first team football this season.

And Forest have beaten off Serie B side Spezia, with Dumitru just one step away from the English Championship club.

The striker, who was born in Sweden, but whose father is Romanian with Italian citizenship, will sign for Forest tomorrow, according to Italian TV programme Qui Studio A Voi Stadio.

Dumitru is also, it is claimed, set to make a financial sacrifice to push the switch to the City Ground through.

The striker spent last term in Serie B at Latina Calcio, where he clocked up 34 appearances and hit the back of the net on seven occasions.

Dumitru has found breaking into the first team on a regular basis with Napoli tough and has just 12 appearances for last season's Serie A runners-up to his name.

Now he is set for a new adventure in England with Nottingham Forest.
