Tottenham Hotspur are to miss out on Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi, as he is set to join Valencia on loan.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have been linked with wanting to take the forward to White Hart Lane this summer, with a potential bid of around £12m being mooted as possible.

But events are moving quickly at the Camp Nou and Munir is heading to the Mestalla to join Valencia on loan with an option to buy, according to Spanish daily Marca.

Barcelona want to sign Valencia's Paco Alcacer and although the two deals are not related, they have smoothed the path for each other.

The Catalan giants' signing of Alcacer, which could be confirmed imminently, would have further reduced Munir's chances of game time at the Camp Nou.

He will hope to be able to feature on a more permanent basis at Valencia, as he looks to prove his worth.

Munir made his senior Barcelona debut in 2014, but since that time has only managed to make 45 appearances for the club, scoring ten goals.

A product of Barcelona's youth system, Munir has won one senior cap for Spain.
