West Bromwich Albion right-back Cristian Gamboa is undergoing a medical with Celtic ahead of his proposed move to the club, according to the BBC Scotland.

Both clubs have already agreed on a fee and the player is now expected to complete the move provided he can pass his medical.




The 26-year-old, who joined the Baggies back in 2014, is currently recovering from a rib injury having been out of action since 9th June.

Gamboa joined the Premier League side in August 2014 for a fee in the region of £2m and signed a three-year contract.
 


The player though hasn't been able to feature prominently for his team, having played in a total of 17 matches over the course of the last two seasons.

Having won 47 caps for his country, Costa Rica, Gamboa has experience of playing in countries such as Denmark and Norway throughout his club career.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has ibeen clear about his desire to bring in a number of players to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes later this week.

The move for the right-back will give Rodgers one further fresh face.
