Bayern Munich are closing in on Arsenal’s Serge Gnabry, according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland.

The winger was in tremendous form in the recently concluded summer Olympics in Rio, with the German scoring six goals and helping his nation to win the silver medal.

As a result, Gnabry aroused interest from several German clubs such as RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin, Bayern Munich and Mainz.

But it seems, the Bavarians are now favourites to land the 21-year-old, who just has a year left on his present contract with Arsenal, although Arsene Wenger did claim last week that he wants to keep the starlet at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the German champions are prepared to loan out the youngster to fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen to gain vital first team experience.

Gnabry, who joined the Gunners’ academy from Stuttgart in 2011, made his professional first team debut for the north London outfit in September 2012.

He has since made 18 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring once and providing two assists.

Gnabry joined West Bromwich Albion on a season-long last summer, but was recalled by Arsenal in January after a lack of first team action at the Hawthorns.
