Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann has confirmed his club are in talks with Arsenal to sign Serge Gnabry, but has insisted that Bayern Munich are playing no role in the transfer.

It emerged earlier this morning that Bayern Munich are plotting to sign the 21-year-old winger and then loan him out to Werder Bremen for the rest of the season.

And even his father indicated that Gnabry has made up his mind about leaving the Premier League giants and joining the German champions before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

However, Werder Bremen have claimed that they are currently in advanced negotiations with the Gunners over a move for Gnabry, and have already agreed personal terms with the player.

Club sporting director Baumann further stated that Bayern Munich are not playing any role in their attempts to sigh the German winger from the north Londoners.

The Werder Bremen sporting director said in a press conference: "Serge Gnabry would like to play for us. Talks with Arsenal are going well.

"We've agreed terms with the player and we're confident that the transfer will go ahead.

"We have reached an agreement with Arsenal, but nothing has been finalised as of yet. The transfer could be confirmed tomorrow morning.

“Bayern Munich have no influence on a potential transfer."

With little more than a day left in the transfer window, it remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich decide to play a role in Gnabry’s move to Germany in the coming hours.
