Fiorentina full-back Marcos Alonso has reached an agreement over a contract with Chelsea, but the clubs are still in talks over a fee.

Chelsea have been in the market for defenders, and signing a full-back has been one of the club's priorities, as Antonio Conte looks to add more strength and depth to his defensive resources.




The Blues have turned their attention Fiorentina full-back Alonso, and have been in talks with the Serie A outfit over a proposed deal that would see the Spaniard move to England this summer.

According to Sky Italia, Chelsea have managed to thrash out personal terms over a contract with the player’s representatives, but are yet to conclude talks with Fiorentina over the transfer.
 


The Premier League giants have offered a fee of around €27m for Alonso, but Fiorentina are yet to accept the bid, and talks between both clubs are yet to conclude.

However, Chelsea are confident that they will shake hands with Fiorentina over an agreement to sign the Spanish full-back soon, and take the deal over the line before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Alonso has already played in the Premier League with Bolton and Sunderland previously, and was a Spanish Under-19 international.
