Lazio have knocked back a transfer offer from West Bromwich Albion for 21-year-old winger Keita Balde.

The Senegal winger’s future has been under the scanner since last summer, and he was linked with a move to England, with Liverpool believed to be the interested party.

His future has come to the fore in recent weeks as there have been suggestions that the winger could leave, and it seems Premier League clubs are still interest in snapping him up.

According to Radiosei, Lazio received a considerable offer from West Brom for the signature of Balde, but the Rome-based outfit have rejected the Premier League club’s bid.

It has been claimed the Baggies slapped in an €18m bid for the Senegal international, but Lazio have firmly shut the door on their approach for the 21-year-old winger.

It remains to be seen whether after an initial failure, West Brom look to go back for the winger with an improved offer in the final two days of the window or look for other options.

A product of the Barcelona academy, Balde joined Lazio in 2011 and has rapidly progressed to break through the ranks at the Stadio Olimpico.

He has made 103 appearances for the club, and has a contract until 2018.
