Nottingham Forest are just one step away from completing the signing of Napoli striker Nicolao Dumitru, after he passed a medical with the Championship club.

Dumitru had offers on the table from Serie B side Spezia and Nottingham Forest – and decided a switch to the City Ground was his best move.

The striker now just has to sign on the dotted line for Forest, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, to complete his switch to the club, after he finished his medical check-up.

Dumitru was born in Sweden to a Romanian father, who holds Italian citizenship.

The 24-year-old has struggled to cement a spot in Napoli's first team, making a total of 12 senior appearances for the club, and has been sent out on a series of loan spells.
