Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has no interest in signing former Manchester United and West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison, who is being chased by Sunderland, Hull City and Nottingham Forest.

The former Manchester United man joined Lazio last summer on a free transfer and was looking to rekindle his career in Italy, but Morrison has struggled at the Stadio Olimpico too.

He made just eight appearances for Lazio last season, and the Serie A giants are looking to offload the troubled midfielder in the last two days of the window.

Nottingham Forest, Hull City and Sunderland have been linked with a swoop for Morrison, and there is speculation that even Newcastle United are considering an offer.

However, according to the Shields Gazette, the club have no intention of taking the mercurial midfielder to St. James’ Park, and are staying clear of signing the Englishman.

Benitez is looking to bring in more players in the final days of the window, but Morrison is not one of his targets, as he looks to assemble a promotion winning Championship squad.

Considering a highly talented prospect at Manchester United’s academy a few years ago, Morrison played a key role alongside current Red Devils superstar Paul Pogba in the Under-18s winning the Youth Cup in 2011.

However, Manchester United offloaded him due to his disciplinary issues in 2012, and even current England manager Sam Allardyce struggled to get him in line during his stint at West Ham.
