Inter Milan are pushing to sign Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian on a loan deal in the last couple of days of the transfer window.

Darmian joined Manchester United last summer from Torino, and despite a good start to his time in England, his form eroded rapidly as his first season in the Premier League progressed.

The Italian has found life under new manager Jose Mourinho tough, and is yet to feature in a single matchday squad for Manchester United this season, leading to speculation surrounding his future.

Darmian has attracted interest from Italy over the summer, with clubs such as Juventus, Roma and Napoli linked with a move for him, but it seems Inter Milan are the ones who could try their luck with him in the last two days of the transfer window.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are interested in snapping up the 26-year-old full-back from Manchester United on a loan deal, and are set to probe the option.

Inter want to sign a full-back before tomorrow’s deadline day, and Darmian has emerged as an experienced and viable option for Franck de Boer’s side towards the end of the window.

However, the proposed negotiations are expected to be tough as Inter could struggle to match the wages the Italian currently earns at Premier League giants Manchester United.

Mourinho has so far maintained that he is not expecting any arrivals or departures, to or from his Manchester United squad ahead of deadline day.
