Chelsea are in talks with Moussa Sissoko's representatives as they look to take advantage of Tottenham Hotspur's reluctance to meet Newcastle United's asking price for the midfielder.

Spurs have made an offer of below £20m for the France international, but Newcastle want £30m for Sissoko and are not willing to budge.

The Magpies are prepared to accept the £30m fee in installments, but still Spurs are reluctant to get close to Newcastle's asking price.

As such, the door has been left open to a move and according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Chelsea are now holding talks with Sissoko's advisors as they look to snap up the midfielder.

West Brom are also keen and have made an offer for Sissoko, but Spurs were ahead of the Baggies due to Champions League football.
