Leeds United look likely to miss out on Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo after a prospective deal stalled.

The Whites have been working hard on signing the 23-year-old Arsenal man as they seek to add a striker to the ranks before the transfer window slams shut.

But according to Radio Yorkshire, despite Leeds trying to overcome the obstacles stopping a deal from happening, they have not succeeded and Sanogo's proposed switch to Elland Road is all but dead.

Leeds made signing a striker their priority for the final phase of the transfer window, but look to be coming up short.

The Elland Road outfit have hoovered up midfielder Eunan O'Kane from Premier League side Bournemouth on a two-year contract.

However, Leeds are well stocked for midfielders and it is likely the club's failure to sign a striker will bite hard.

Sanogo has had a series of loan spells away from Arsenal, spending time with Crystal Palace, Ajax and Charlton Athletic.
