Luton Town midfielder Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu has emerged has a transfer deadline day target for Leeds United, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites, who beat Luton Town in an EFL Cup second round game last week, are keen to bring in a midfielder and a forward before the closure of the summer transfer window.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino was present at Kenilworth Road to witness the encounter and is said to have been impressed with Mpanzu’s display.

As a result, Leeds have reportedly expressed an interest in signing the 23-year-old, who has already made seven appearances in all competitions for the League Two outfit in the present campaign.

It was reported in some corners yesterday that Luton Town had rejected a bid from Leeds for the player, but either club are yet to confirm it.
