Liverpool are allowing Mario Balotelli to join Ligue 1 outfit Nice on a free transfer on transfer deadline day.

Balotelli arrived in France earlier today to undergo a medical with Nice, but the French club were still negotiating the terms of his move with Liverpool.

A loan deal was expected to be on the cards, but it seems Liverpool are desperate to get Balotelli off their books, and according to the BBC, they have agreed to sell him on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old still has two years left on his contract with the Reds, but the Merseyside giants have decided to ignore that fact and allow him to leave for free.

The two clubs are currently completing the paperwork for the forward’s move to Nice, and the deal is expected to be pushed over the line before the transfer window slams shut in a few hours.
