Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk is holding discussions with an unnamed Belgian mid-table side, as he looks to secure a move away from the club, according to FOX Sports.

The player, who has only a year left on his contract, is keen to leave England before the end of the transfer window later today.

A number of clubs from countries such as Greece, Turkey and Belgium have been keeping an eye on the situation, though it now appears that Belgium will be his likely destination.

The Championship side are looking to offload the Dutchman after snapping up Nicolao Dumitru on a season-long loan deal from Italian outfit Napoli and are looking to buy one more before the window closes.

Veldwijk therefore wants a way out in order to secure first team football which would likely be an issue at City Ground.

The name of the Belgian team, who are in the mix for the player, is yet to be known though.

Having joined Forest in 2014, Veldwijk has played a total of 17 matches for the Championship club, scoring a lone goal and has provided his team-mates with a single assist.
