Fiorentina have reached an agreement with West Ham over midfielder Pedro Obiang’s move to Italy on deadline day, it has been claimed.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers from Sampdoria last summer and despite making 37 appearances in all competitions in his first season, he failed to nail down a starting spot in Slaven Bilic’s side.

He started just one of West Ham’s three Premier League games in the first month of the new season, and it seems Obiang is on his way back to Italy on transfer deadline day.

Fiorentina have been in talks with West Ham for the Spaniard over the last few days, and it seems the two clubs have shaken hands on his move back to Italian football.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Obiang will complete a season-long loan move to La Viola later today, and West Ham have inserted a obligatory purchase option into the agreement worth €6m.

The midfielder made a name for himself in Italian football before moving to England last summer, and will be looking to start from where he left off in Serie A with Fiorentina.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers look to bring in one more player as a replacement for the Fiorentina-bound Obiang today.
