Piotr Zielinski has explained his decision to move to Napoli, feeling the Serie A club offer the perfect environment for him to develop.

The Poland midfielder was linked with Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window, while AC Milan were also keen on securing his services.

But in the end Zielinski moved from Udinese to Napoli, linking up with the side that finished second in Serie A last season.

And he feels he has made the right move, with Napoli suiting him down to the ground at present.

"I'm happy to be at Napoli", he explained to Polish outlet Sportowefakty.

"They are one of the best teams you can move to when you're 22 years old.

"Over time, I can become a regular", the Poland international added.

Napoli paid Udinese around €16m to snap up the midfielder, who impressed on loan at Empoli in Serie A last season.

Zielinski also has Champions League football to look forward to with Napoli, something which would not have been the case if he had moved to either Liverpool or AC Milan.
