Crystal Palace could go back in for Genoa midfielder Tomas Rincon in the January transfer window, it has been claimed.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew was looking to take Rincon to Selhurst Park before the transfer window slammed shut last week, but the Premier League outfit were unable to agree a fee with Genoa.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Palace were €3m off agreeing a fee for the 28-year-old, as Genoa looked for €10m.

It has been claimed that the Eagles' interest in the midfielder is not dead and they could launch a new bid to sign him in the winter transfer window.

However, Crystal Palace could face heavyweight Italian opposition.
