Former AC Milan and Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia has arrived in Sunderland.

The Black Cats are looking to add another goalkeeper to the ranks, however due to the transfer window slamming shut, are restricted to looking at free agents.

And Sunderland boss David Moyes will run the rule over Amelia after he arrived in the north east, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.

Amelia is keen to continue his adventure in English football following his spell at Chelsea – and Sunderland could be the next stop for the 34-year-old custodian.

His trial was arranged by agent Franco Zavala and Giuliani Sports.
