Former Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has revealed that he intends to spend time with the Brendan Rodgers and David Moyes if he is not back managing a club this month, having already visited Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

Evans, who took charge of Leeds in October 2015, was let go in June despite guiding the club to a 13th place finish in the Championship last season; his prime objective was to help the Whites avoid relegation.

The 53-year-old has already visited European heavyweights Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund to continue learning his trade.

And Evans insisted that he will spend time with Rodgers, Moyes, Quique Flores and Unai Emery to learn more about the game if he does not take charge of a club this month.

“Mentally, I am ready to return to the game we all love and, hopefully, I can add to the fantastic eight promotions I have had in my career”, he wrote in the Football League Paper.

“For now, I will continue to watch as many matches across the level as possible and spend time visiting clubs, to look at how they go about their business.

“Since July I have visited Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, which has been a great experience.

“If I am not back in management this month, then I will continue to do that.

"I already have time planned with David Moyes, Quique Flores [at Espanyol], Brendan Rodgers and Unai Emery [at Paris Saint-Germain], so it is another great month to analyse and learn from some of the best in the game.”

Evans, who has also managed Stamford, Boston United, Crawley Town and Rotherham United, was linked with jobs across England, Scotland, Qatar and China in the summer.

His successor at Leeds, Garry Monk, is already under pressure following a disastrous start to the campaign.
