Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has ruled Anthony Martial out of his side’s clash against Leicester City on Saturday.

The Frenchman suffered a heavy tackle in front of his own penalty box, which resulted in Watford taking the lead at Vicarage Road, but the forward had to come off because of an injury.

While Martial revealed on Friday that he was back in training, Mourinho declared that the forward is not fit to be involved, and explained the incident, which he felt was a foul last weekend.

The Manchester United boss said in a press conference: “Martial is not available.

“He is out because of the contusion in the calf and ankle area. I think you know when that happened.”

However, the Manchester United manager didn’t provide any updates on Luke Shaw, who has suffered a groin injury, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is also recovering from an injury.

The Red Devils will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league when they host Leicester at Old Trafford; they won their last match, away to Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.
