Theo Walcott feels a performance like the one Arsenal served up in a 3-0 win over Chelsea this evening has been coming for the Gunners, with the forward urging his side to keep doing the business.

Arsenal needed just 12 minutes to pull ahead against Chelsea and had Alexis Sanchez to thank. The goal came about through a defensive error from Gary Cahill, who took took too long over a backpass, allowing Sanchez to steal in and have a clear run on goal, from which he made no mistake.

Just two minutes later it was 2-0, this time Walcott striking. The England international was on the end of a superb passing move which cut Chelsea open and saw Bellerin put it on a plate for Walcott, who finished well.

In the 40th minute it was 3-0, Chelsea being effectively killed off, as Mesut Ozil fed Sanchez, who then returned the favour by finding the German at the back post with a cross, Ozil then volleying a shot which found the back of the net.

In the 53rd minute, Arsenal should have had a fourth, with the Gunners tearing Chelsea open, but Sanchez failing to connect with a Walcott cross.

Walcott then went close following a lightening Arsenal counter-attack, but he was denied by the Chelsea goalkeeper.

It finished 3-0 to Arsene Wenger's side, with the Gunners having comfortably seen off Chelsea in a London derby.

For Walcott, Arsenal's superb display had been on the cards for a while and he told BT Sport: "We worked really hard in the week. We know what has happened in the past, but it is all about now.

"The guys did really well today. It has been quietly coming. We are all working for each other. Everyone is focused.

"We have been here before. We are not doing ourselves any harm. We just want to keep doing our business. If we keep clean sheets we will win games because we can score goals.

"I was in the right place at the right time for the goal. I am obviously pleased with that."

And the forward saluted the experience and know-how he feels is now in the team.

"You could sense in the PSG game that it was tough, but we got through it. The experience is bedding in to this team now. We were disciplined."
