Leeds United legend Eddie Gray feels the Whites can nick a win against Ipswich Town in a tight game today, but has fears that it could easily end up as a draw.

Garry Monk’s men have been on a good run of form recently, and are coming into today’s game at Elland Road on the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions.

Ipswich on the other hand are tough team to beat and are ahead of Leeds in the league table, but Gray believes that the Whites can nick a win with an odd goal in a tough encounter against Mick McCarthy’s men.

The Leeds legend told LUTV: “I do fancy us, but it will be tough.

“I think it will be a tight game, but a win won’t surprise me. I think we can win it with an odd goal.”

However, the 68-year-old also warned that given the way Ipswich play, there is a big chance that the game could end up in a draw as despite the results Leeds have not been at the top of their game recently.

He believes Monk is aware that Leeds have not been playing pristine football despite the recent run of form, and a win over Ipswich would be more than a good result.

“It has a draw written all over it because of the way they have been playing, and I don’t think Garry will get carried away with our home form.

“The victories were good, but his staff will be analysing the performances – we have got to be honest about it, both games our goalkeepers made vital saves which changed the course of the games.

“So they will be looking at that and saying we still need to show big improvements if we have to compete with teams like Ipswich.

“It’s a good win if you beat them, and I think we are capable of doing it.”
