Chelsea legend Tommy Langley feels the Blues gave Mesut Ozil the chance to hurt them at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal running out 3-0 winners over Antonio Conte's men on Saturday.

Arsenal bossed the game from the off and soon had Chelsea in real trouble as first Alexis Sanchez in the eleventh minute and then Theo Walcott in the 14th minute scored.

Ozil then struck in the 40th minute to send Arsenal in 3-0 up at the break and well out of reach of a Chelsea side playing well below their best.

Langley, who was assessing the game on Chelsea TV with Frank Sinclair and Jason Cundy, does not feel Ozil qualifies as a world-class player and is overhyped.

But he still knows the Germany international is capable of hurting teams if given the time and space to do so, as Chelsea did.

"You give Ozil time on the ball and he can hurt you", Langley explained.

"I don't think any of us think he's world-class and perhaps [he’s] overhyped, but today he looked a proper player because we never got in his face.

"He was able to play at his own pace, his own tempo", the Chelsea legend added.

Following a promising start, Chelsea have hit a period of poor Premier League form with a draw at Swansea and defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal making up their last three league matches.

Antonio Conte will look to guide his side to all three points away at Hull City next weekend, while then Chelsea welcome champions Leicester City to Stamford Bridge after the international break.
