Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb thinks that Hull City's Tom Huddlestone is off the pace fitness wise and the Reds took advantage at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool had Hull on the rack early on during the Premier League fixture and took the lead through Adam Lallana in the 17th minute.

The Tigers then had Ahmed Elmohamedy sent off for a deliberate handball in the 29th minute, something which also saw Liverpool awarded a penalty, which James Milner scored.

Further goals from Sadio Mane, Milner again and Philippe Coutinho were only answered by a David Meyler strike, meaning Liverpool ran out 5-1 winners to continue their march in the Premier League.

And Babb, who does feel Huddlestone is a gifted player, believes Liverpool took advantage of the midfielder's weaknesses, while he also feels he did not look as fit as he should be..

"There are good and bad sides to Tom Huddlestone. He is a fantastically gifted player, but he's not the most mobile and his fitness levels don't look at high as they should be", Babb said on LFC TV.

"When you have such an aggressive and pressing midfield, we won the ball off him time and time again."

Hull sit in 12th spot in the Premier League with seven points following their defeat at Anfield.

Liverpool meanwhile are fourth, with 13 points from their opening six games, just behind third placed Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.
