Paul Pogba admits he always knew that playing for Manchester United was going to be a challenge, but is confident that he will prove his detractors wrong, along with the team defying their critics.

Manchester United paid a world record fee of £89m to snare the Frenchman away from Juventus in the summer, but the midfielder failed to stamp his authority in his first few games, attracting severe criticism for his and the team’s lackadaisical performances.

Pogba came into his own against Leicester City on Saturday as he dictated play from the middle of the park and capped off an impressive performance with his first goal for Manchester United in a 4-1 win for the Red Devils.

The Frenchman admits that Manchester United were always going to be a big challenge for him, but he is confident at the end of it all Jose Mourinho’s men will come out on top and make his critics eat their own words.

He told MUTV: "It was a big challenge for me to come here, even though I‘d won four titles with Juventus.
