Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is to hold talks with Mamadou Sakho following the defender posting critical messages on Snapchat.

Klopp was keen to see Sakho to leave Anfield in the summer and a number of sides tried to sign the France centre-back, only for him to reject any departure from Liverpool.

Sakho has not played for Liverpool this season and the Reds have claimed he is not yet fully fit.

But Sakho took to the social media platform to insist that he has been fit for the last three weeks and has even been denied the opportunity to play for Liverpool Under-23s to stay sharp.

He vowed to "speak soon" about his situation, but also pledged his loyalty to Liverpool and expressed his wish to be handed game time soon.

Klopp was asked about Sakho's comments following Liverpool's 5-1 win over Hull City on Saturday and confirmed he does plan to speak to the Frenchman, he just has not yet decided when that will be.

"On a matchday I am in completely the wrong mood to think about something like this", he told a press conference, when asked about Sakho's comments.

"Meanwhile I know that something was on the thing we both don't use, but it's not the right moment to speak about it because I think most of the time in life it is better to think about something and then maybe it is more likely that you give the right answer.

"It's not positive, I would say.

"I think I will address the situation when I think it's the right moment.

"I didn't decide until now when it is.

"But it's not Christmas", Klopp added.

Sakho was sent home early from Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States this summer by Klopp. The Frenchman arrived late to meet up with his team-mates to depart on tour, while he then interrupted an interview Klopp was giving on arrival in the United States.
