Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb believes that Sadio Mane can score 20 goals for the Reds this season, while he also lauded the winger for being so good that "magic" is expected by the fans whenever he gets the ball.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp splashed out £34m to sign Mane from Southampton in the summer transfer window, making the Senegal international the most expensive African player of all time.

The winger has not disappointed, proving to be a constant goal threat and driving at defences. And Mane was again in form on Saturday when Liverpool crushed Hull City 5-1 at Anfield, scoring his side's third in the 36th minute.

Babb is impressed with the impact Mane has had, feeling now a lot is expected when he gets the ball.

And the former Liverpool star backed Mane to score 20 goals this term.

"Every time he gets the ball we're expecting a little bit of magic", Babb said on LFC TV.

"His turn of pace from a standing position is outstanding and bomb, he's gone, two yards he's beaten his man.

"I can see him scoring 20 goals this season.

"Every time he is on the pitch he gets opportunities. If he is a little bit more clinical, he will definitely get that 20 goal mark", the former centre-back added.

Mane has made six appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this term, scoring three goals and providing his team-mates with three assists.

He missed his side's only league loss so far, against Burnley, with a shoulder injury.
