Former Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn believes Eunan O’Kane has been the unsung hero of the Whites’ recent run of good form.

The 26-year-old Irish international joined Leeds on transfer deadline day, and has taken little time to become one of the pivotal figures in their midfield over the last couple of weeks.

O’Kane has played a key role in dictating things for Leeds United, as the Yorkshire giants have gone on a good run of form, and has quietly become one of Garry Monk’s go-to-men in midfield.

Redfearn has also lauded the midfielder’s influence in recent games, and feels he is one of those kind of players who don’t attract the headlines, but is pivotal for any team’s success with his intelligent play in the middle of the park.

The former Leeds boss told TV Yorkshire when asked about O’Kane: “I think he is one of those players who go about their business quietly.

“I think he is a bit of an unsung hero, he has made a difference since coming in.

"He is got good energy, reads the game well, he picks second ball ups and makes Leeds play.

“He is a good link between midfield and attack.”

With four international caps to his name, O’Kane is also making a name for himself in the Ireland national team, and is expected to become a big part of Leeds’ plans going forward.
