Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton feels Rangers fans should keep a low profile at present due to their side's results.

Mark Warburton's men slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at Aberdeen on Sunday to make it a run of four Premiership games without a win, a spell which includes a 5-1 loss at fierce rivals Celtic.

Rangers are now in the bottom half of the Premiership after seven games and have a goal difference of minus three – a far cry from challenging at the top end of the table as they were planning to do.

Sutton has angered some Rangers fans by including no Gers players in his Premiership Team of the Week. He did though include Aberdeen's James Maddison, despite admitting he did not watch Rangers' 2-1 loss at Pittodrie on Sunday.

However, the former Celtic striker has suggested Rangers fans should pipe down due to their team's poor form at present.

He wrote on Twitter: "I'm thoroughly enjoying the anger as no Rangers players in [team of the week].

"I'd be keeping a low profile about my team's performances of late…..Just saying."

Rangers will be looking to return to form when they host bottom club Partick Thistle at Ibrox next Saturday.

Then Warburton's side head into the international break, with no further fixtures until a trip to Inverness on 14th October.
