Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for his professionalism and insists that he would have no problem in holding talks with the Belgian custodian, if he requests them.

Mignolet has missed his side's last two matches, against Derby County in the EFL Cup and Hull City in the Premier League, with summer signing Loris Karius taking his place between the sticks.

And the 23-year-old is expected to keep his place in the playing eleven for the match against Swansea City next weekend, as Klopp looks to give him a good run in the side.

This though necessarily means that the Belgian will be faced with frustration yet again with his manager being faced with the option of pacifying his number one.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager though insists that Mignolet is a thorough professional and will have no problem in seeing his team-mate wearing the gloves.

"Simon is one of the best professionals we have. Like I said a few times, before the game there is only the decision", Klopp told his club's official website.

"After the game if someone wants to talk about it we can talk about it, but before the game nothing else than the game.

"If he wants to talk we can talk, there's no problem, but it will not be a problem because I know him."

Klopp also took time to speak about his inability to promise starting line-up positions to all in a single match.

"We cannot promise line-up positions. We can only say we made decisions, use them."
